Pashupatinath is one of the most important pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Shiva. For centuries, devotees have come to the sacred complex in Kathmandu to offer prayers, perform rituals, make offerings and seek blessings.

A puja at Pashupatinath may be performed for personal devotion, family worship, important life occasions, traditional observances or other religious intentions. If you are unable to travel to Nepal, you can submit a request through this page and we will help determine whether the puja you are seeking can be arranged.

You do not need to know exactly which puja you want before contacting us. If you know your intention but are unsure which ritual may be appropriate, tell us what you are looking for and we can explain the available options.

Can I Arrange a Puja Without Visiting Nepal?

Yes — for eligible rituals and arrangements.

Devotees living outside Kathmandu, outside Nepal, or overseas may request assistance arranging selected pujas at Pashupatinath. The process is simple.

Where an official Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) rate applies, we show it separately from our assisted booking price. The official PADT rate is the published rate for the temple's own puja arrangements; the assisted booking price is what applies when we coordinate the arrangement on your behalf, and may include our stated service fee. We keep these clearly separated so you always know exactly what you're paying for. Rates should be verified against the current official PADT information before payment or confirmation.

Independent Pujas & Ritual Arrangements

Not every ritual performed around the Pashupatinath complex is an official PADT-rate puja. Some arrangements involve priests, dakshina, offerings or other independent coordination — pricing depends on the specific ritual and priest arrangement, and a flat coordination fee (currently NRS 2,000) may apply.

A sankalpa expresses the intention associated with a religious act. When requesting a puja, you may provide details such as your full name, the names of family members, your Gotra, Nakshatra or Rashi if known, your preferred date, and any special instructions or devotional intention.

Pashupatinath is in Kathmandu. Your prayer doesn't have to begin there.

Puja arrangements should be approached with respect for the temple's traditions, priests and established procedures. Where a puja is arranged through our service, we communicate the requested ritual and devotee details to the person responsible for carrying out the arrangement.

The exact procedure, priest availability, timing and participation options can vary by ritual, which is why we confirm the specific arrangement before accepting the request.

  • A booking request is not automatically a confirmed booking.
  • Availability depends on the requested ritual, date and arrangement.
  • Prices can change and should be confirmed before payment.
  • Official temple rates and assisted booking charges are different things.
  • Remote participation, photographs and recordings are subject to availability and must be confirmed.
  • Gotra, Nakshatra and Rashi are useful when known but do not need to prevent you from making an initial inquiry.
  • Some rituals may require additional information or arrangements.

Yes. Select a puja, share the devotee's name and intention (sankalpa), and the ritual is performed at Pashupatinath by a priest on your behalf. We confirm the arrangement with you before proceeding. Photos, video or remote participation are available for selected pujas and are agreed in advance.
