Independent, and upfront about it

The Pashupatinath is an independent devotional and cultural resource. We are not officially affiliated with the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) or the Government of Nepal, and we say so clearly on every booking page.

How we are funded

We charge a service fee on pujas we coordinate on your behalf. On the booking page the official PADT rate and our assisted-booking price are shown separately, so you always see what is the temple's rate and what is our fee.

How a booking works

A request is not a confirmed booking. We confirm availability, the rate, our fee and the payment arrangements with you first, and we proceed only after you approve them. Nothing is paid through the request form. See the puja booking page, our terms and our cancellation and refund policy.

Editorial standards

  • Sources are named. Each encyclopedia article shows its author, the date it was last reviewed and the sources it relies on.
  • Disagreement is shown, not hidden. Where reliable sources conflict, we present both versions and say so.
  • Single-source claims are labelled as resting on one source.
  • When rules are disputed, we default to the stricter interpretation so that visitors are never led to break a temple rule.
  • No borrowing from other temples. We do not attribute rules or traditions from other temples to Pashupatinath unless that is specifically confirmed.
  • Corrections are welcome. If you spot an error, tell us and we will review it.
